A court in Baghdad has begun its session to deliver the verdict in the trial of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein for crimes against humanity.

Saddam Hussein and seven co-defendants were charged with killing 148 villagers in the mostly Shia town of Dujail.

If found guilty, Saddam could be sentenced to death.

A total curfew was imposed on Baghdad and two other provinces ahead of the verdict, amid fears of a violent reaction from Saddam's supporters.

Now would be an ideal time to invalidate Ramsey Clark's US entry visa.

The judge threw Ramsey Clark out of the courtroom before the verdicts were read.

Dang. I was hoping he was one of the co-defendants.

Because Ramsey Clark thinks he's better than anyone else and the judge showed him how wrong he was.

Quote: “I will die with honor and with no fear, with pride for my country and my Arab nation but the U.S. occupiers will leave in humiliation and defeat,” they quoted Saddam as saying. “They will see rivers of blood for years to come. It will dwarf Vietnam.”

I don't know if it's relevant to this thread, but I believe the brit sounding reporter on CNN is the same one who did the voiceover for the controversial sniper video a few weeks ago.

OPINION: I see a number of Iraqi blogs haven't been updated yet, so I don't know how widespread the verdict is.
