Why don't Michael J. Fox and his Hollywood buddies fund this embryonic stem cell research, instead of trying to force us to fund it for them?

A 'brilliant' idea!
But that would require the Hollyweird types to put their money where their stem cells (and their mouths) are.
Much easier and economical to stick it to the public.

Why don't Michael J. Fox and his Hollywood buddies fund this embryonic stem cell research, instead of trying to force us to fund it for them?If they actually believed that this research was perfectly moral, wouldn't they be creating their own embryos to donate?

You want to end it? Get Congress to pass legislation stating that nothing funded in full or in part by federal, state or local funds can be covered by a patient, a registration or a copyright and that all development, from creative works to scientific discoveries shall belong to the people who paid for it. Nationwide, we'd save tens of billions.

Why don't Michael J. Fox and his Hollywood buddies fund this embryonic stem cell research, instead of trying to force us to fund it for them? Because it is a wedge issue. It is being shamelessly exploited by the Democrats, who promise Pie-In-The-Sky cures in exchange for votes.
I do not understand why the Republicans don't take this issue to the Democrats, and hard. They have behaved disgracefully.
If they want to discuss Abortion, we can do that all day long. But instead, they run their stealth campaigns and hide behind children and cripples. They build up hope in the most vulnerable members of our society, and don't give a damn whether or not that hope is ever fulfilled. They are beneath contempt.

Why don't Michael J. Fox and his Hollywood buddies fund this embryonic stem cell research, instead of trying to force us to fund it for them? Because silly, it's a lot more fun to spend your money.
