I too think Allen will squeak it out, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about it. This should have been a no-brainer for him, but he did make a few small mistakes and then had them magnified a million times by the drive-by media in concert with the Webb campaign. If anyone ever believed that the dominant media wasn't trying to get Democrats elected, a close look at this campaign would disabuse them of that belief. Jim Webb is a loser of a candidate and he's got a realistic shot at being elected to the Senate, thanks to them.

Oh, good! A live thread. These usually turn out to be the best for big events like this election.

Firstest with the mostest.

I just voted not long ago. Everything went smoothly except for me pointing at the voting station, screaming, "DIEBOLD!" and then dropping to the floor sobbing.

If Allen still has presidential aspiations after tonight, he needs to get himself a whole new PR team.

At least you didn't smash the monitor, like a dim Dem did in Allentown.

Now he's in jail.

I'm not even thinking about 2008. Let's get him back in the Senate first. If he wins, he'll have an entire year to put Macaca-gate and the rest of this mud behind him and decide if he still wants to try it. It wouldn't surprise me if he said "the hell with it" after this campaign and stayed in the Senate for his full six.
