I agree with what you said about the opportunity for Republicans to come out stronger for presidential race in 2008. For one thing, Bush and Republicans did not fight verbally agianst the Demos and their press regarding the war. NOw, through hearings, the Dems will be made to look like idiots. I remember their constant witch hunts when Republican administration officials made them look like screeching dimwits on a daily basis.

We did not have an agenda...floated like limo liberal Rinos which was when we were the permanent minority. Now we will have to stand up and argue for our point of view - and have a point of view.

Rinos like McCain will not be weakened. When we were the minority before, the media played up turncoat "bi-partisan" republicans like McCain who pushed through Democrat leglislation.

Bush will get his open border amnesty. That will hurt the United States with over population and a third world workforce competeing in the US for jobs with Americans. It will strengthen unions and it will give Democrats a boat load of voters into the future.

There will be no regulation controling illegal voting. Democrats will redraw districts to make themselves a majority for a long, long time.

We will see demos insert pro-abotion, hate, homosexual rights, ethuenasia and reverse discrimination riders on all leglislation. They will come after Christians like Hillary and Bill did with the "vast right wing conspiracy." They will hurt Israel as much as possible.

It is going to be ugly, folks.

Kerry's out from hiding and claiming a MANDATE

That's gotta be a typo. He's out of the closet, and seeking a MAN DATE.

The media hadn't a clue about 94, they were complacent, they did not actively campaign.

But the MSM got their sh#t together and defeated every piece of good leg that was proposed.

And then defeated the class of 94 two years later.

Republicans and Conservative in office can only pass what the MSM let's them pass.

The MSM are the gatekeepers, and the size of government will never decrease until we remove them.

Bush has been a good placeholder president that has faced many challanges and was by far the best man for the job, but we know he's basically a Rino elite. His dad ran out of gas about 2 years into his term, W about year 3. We need to dig deep and find true headbanging conservatives. Moderation is a nation killer.

Two years is a short time. You can sit here and piss and moan if you want to, I don't. Congratulate the winners ,pick better candidates and lets get back in the game.

You must be young. Democrats most certainly can spend more....and they will. I hope you were able to take advantage of the market of late.

Amen. The Republicans may be disappointing, but the Democrats are dangerous. Too bad so many people forgot that today.

I give the terrorists only months before they hit us again, after the Dems cut military/intelligence spending, and either ignore or withdraw our troops in Iraq/Afghanistan. That will free up all those Islamofacists to attack us over here.

"I can count on my Republican senators and representaive to make life miserable for the 'Rats and to block or frustrate any part of the liberal agenda the 'Rats try to implement."

You CAN? On what basis?

I don't recall that happening int he last 6 years while the Republicans had majority and I find absolutley no rationale for expecting (or even hoping) that it will mysteriously begin to happen now.

I also am beyond perplexed by so many Freepers saying things like "now the Dems will be forced to ..."

WHEN have they been forced to do anything?
WHEN have they been forced to make good on their talk?
WHEN have they been forced to be even remotely consistent?
WHEN have they been forced to so much as obey the law?
WHEN have they been held accountable for their actions?
WHEN have they been held accountable for their words?

I do not see it in recent history - at all.

HOW can I intelligently/reasonably imagine that it may begin now?

I cannot.

Dubya claimed he had a mandate after 2004, too, and we all know how quickly that was spent.

Clinton gets credit for balancing the budget but remember he never had the congress and he had Newt on his ass the first term
