I'm sure Hillary is very happy tonight about that fact.

Even if Allen had won by a landslide tonight, I would have been scared to death to have had him as our candidate against the Hildebeast.

I think she would have beaten him handly...I shudder to even think that could happen to America.

The news services have nothing to do with it right now. The "official unofficial" counts on the Commonwealth's own website shows Allen down 1800 votes, with some absentees and a few straggler precincts left to count. There was a typo on CNN that gave Webb 4000 more votes than he should've had in one county, but that doesn't affect what the State Board of Elections is showing on their own website, and *they* have Webb ahead right now. We'll see how it goes in the morning.

Unfortunately, I live in Fairfax County .. and have watched it turn blue before my very eyes. It is so painful!

Both Tom Davis and Frank Wolf held their seats, but in the 50%'s v. 60%'s they did in 2004. It was not a GOP year. I am comforted in remembering that it was actualy worse in 1986 for Reagan.

You want to know the truth. All republicans had to do was run on one issue. Intercepting information from terrorist. Instead they ran stupid commericials that sucked about tailhook here.

"Just a bad year for the Pubs. Regroup and get it done in two."

Hopefully in two the pubs will realize the error of their ways.......moderate, even liberal policies do not make a winning strategy, politically.

The blame lays squarely on the GOP, and the inability to field candidates that a majority of people would vote for.

However, I am not so optimistic. There will be people who blame conservatives for this electoral fiasco.....and they will be wrong.

But, at least we get to laugh at democrats for a couple years. should be amusing starting..........tomorrow!

A republican was CIC in 1974 when the Rat House of Representatives pulled the plug on financial support to our South Vietnamese allies.

The Rats in the House took the position then that American military assistance to the South Vietnamese government was "fueling the war" and that withdrawing our support would in fact help end the conflict.

Sound familiar?

Thanks! That is what I thought. I was trying to get more info while I watched the CA races...you saved me the trouble.

I just noticed Corker won and we are taking GA 8 (Shows you how far behind I am)

Allen has two years to rest, heal, regroup, and prepare to win the Republican nomination for President in '08.

I sure hope not. After a certain number of chuckleheaded public moments, a candidate disqualifies himself from the presidency. Allen went over the limit with this campaign.

In Isle of Wright County, the vote is 9050 for Webb and roughly 6,400 for Allen. If true, the turnout would be 75% of registered voters compared to just a bit more than 50% turnout for the state. At one time, the listed vote total was 5,050 for Webb and 6,400 for Allen, exactly 4,000 votes different. Something does seem strange about this county.

Hey that's good news there. 5000 is not a lot of votes but it's better than Webb being ahead.

The margin being reported on CNN has swelled to 12k+. Unfortunately we're staring a 51-49 Dem Senate right in the face.

Please pray for some of our Iraq vets who are taking the election news pretty hard. Incredibly hard as a matter of fact.

We will Stand The Storm and carry on and we will prevail as God wills it.

"Call me cynical but I cannot imagine Virginia being settled without lawyers and a recount. I don't think we know tonight either way."

If it sticks at the current numbers I don't want that. We lambast the hell out of Democrats for similar sorelosermanesque tactics and I don't see any point in being both losers and hypocrits unless we find some real issues to litigate. Given the margin i'd be surprised if we did.
