"Bush got the message from the voters loud and clear."

You got that right. And from the non-voters as well. You advance your agenda by winning elections. Not by losing them.

IMO George Bush is the key to the next two years, He can come out looking like a wimp or a hero. Its uop to him, but so far he hasnt showed me he has what it takes. Not much we can do with a weak and Rino Republican party in the minority, although a strong lader there would help too.

Certainly we have a chance with Hastert saying he will not run for leader and frist gone we can pick a good leader we can move along. I just dont see one available.

"Bush "FIGHTING?" Never going to happen."

He's taking a lesson from all the people who sat out the election because they were unhappy. He's going to do exactly what they did and roll over and let the libs have their way. What else can he do? The American people who voted sent the only real signal about where they want the country to go. They won. Conservatives lost.

I have a little different take on why the election was lost. Involves BJC, Dem media together. They planned and assessed carefully. Ran "clone" candidates in the various races. These clones espoused the same message as the incumbants, pro life, for closing borders, new direction for the war but no pull-out, etc. This with the continual drone from the media and polls telling the electorate where to put their "x" worked. Brilliant scheme really.

JD Hayworth in AZ complained a while back that his opponent was "copying" him, running on the exact same issues. Poor JD never knew what was coming.

Namely, down the crapper.

And now Pelosi is going to have to figure out how to trick the American people into forwarding her San Francisco Values, while giving the appearance that these new Congressional Democrats are true to their word.

There is another course.....invite her to the white house and line up the TV camers as he kicks her ass out the door.

Ignore the whole situation and allow Bolton to cintinue. Let tem bring a law suit to get him removed.

"What we need now is a belligerent, fighting president."

No. What the President needed was some belligerent, fighting supporters. What he got were a bunch of roll over, non-voting whiners. Now, those same people expect the President to fight their battles. Sorry, but the American VOTERS have spoken. Conservatives lost.

"We need to hold them accountable for this!!!"

Yeah!!! Oh wait. We just let them take control of the House and Senate. Hmmmm. I know, let's sit out that next election. That'll teach them a real lesson they'll never forget.

With the help of the media they will be portrayed as "darlings" as our wallets get thinner and our security dwindles, soldiers decide there are other ways to make a living. The country will not be able to wage another war even if the enemy is on our borders with missles. Unless it is a Dem Prez that is. Who else would dare?

So will the Republicans block their vote with a filibuster?

Perhaps you are right , perhaps the President didnt get enough fighting support to win. However dont you believe he could have fought a little bit on his own?

I know many Grass Roots Republicans who fought and fought hard, and kept wondering when he would defend himself.

What were people supposed to believe when the entore democrat machine attacked and he didnt ven make a move on defense. He could have called the Republicans to the White House and given them a pep talk at least. I blame a lot of people for not fighting for the President , however I believe most of the blame falls on his soft spoken , "I dont want to make anyone mad" demeanor.

"However dont you believe he could have fought a little bit on his own? "

The man has done nothing but fight since the day he entered office. He has been fighting for the long term interests of this country like no President in recent memory. We currently enjoy an incredibly strong economy while fighting a very aggressive war against a threat unseen since the days of the Third Reich. The President is doing his job as the Commander in Chief. That he doesn't pull a Clinton and shake his finger at the camera to rally the weaker members of his party says more for him than against him. There is a difference between fighting and yelling. We are led by a fighter. Apparently, some (not necessarily you) would rather have a cheerleader.

Well...that's my method, and sometimes the message STILL gets murky. LOL.

If a majority of the American people are lending aid and comfort to our enemies, then they're not our enemies any more. You may not like it, the president may not like it, and the think tanks may not like it. but it is by definition impossible for the American people as a whole to betray the country because THEY ARE THE COUNTRY.

What I have been reading around here disgusts me beyond measure.

We take out the President at the knees, whine and complain for months, do nothing but weaken him, scream at him, second guess him, fall for the media slurs over and over again...and now have the unmitigated gall to scream and yell when he doesn't have the "backbone" and "will to fight." My God! And we are his friends!

I would say what I think of people like that...but frankly I try to be a lady, and it ain't particularly ladylike.

So...suffice it to say that my respect for "real conservatives" and the "elite conservatives" has been reduced dramatically. They apparently prefer to remain a minority so they can be "right" rather than to actually work hard and make progress toward a future goal.

We sent our man a message all right. We sent him the message that we are narcissistic babies. The message was that when the going gets tough, we start complaining about everything. That we'd rather take the easy way than the right way. That actually listening to the military (which we promised ourselves we'd do after VN) is stupid and we need POLITICIANS to run the war. We are, frankly, not worthy of a man a decent and honorable as GWB. We deserve the Delays and the Lotts and the Buchanans.

Yes, I'm angry now. (Is that part of the grieving process?) I could have moved on last night, but watching people pile on today and get mad at the President is where I draw the line. How incredibly disappointing.

Sir, with all due respect...he is been fighting his heart out. He has been fighting Islamic terrorists, the media, us, democrats and his own team in congress and the Senate, not to mention idiotic investigations and entrenched bureaucracies like the CIA.

Just how much do you expect him to do?
