I'll have to correct a bit. I've been to upstate NY - Great folks for sure, but they are quite accustomed to what we down here consider intrusive Government. It does have GREAT people who live there for sure - bit I still wouldn't want to live there.

If I want to add on to my house, 15 minutes at the county office and I've got my permit and off I go. No problem.
I am free to carry my sidearm nearly anywhere I chose to.
There are a great many differences - but that's why we have 50 States - Something for everybody.

Well, not quite. ".. the right of the people ... shall not be infringed" is for everyone.

In your state it's further reinforced by:

"“That every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state.” Article 1, Section 26.,

and yet the statute law provides:

"It is unlawful to carry a concealed pistol, firearm, or airgun without a permit. It is unlawful for a person to carry a pistol about his person on premises not his own or under his control. It is unlawful to carry a rifle or shotgun walking cane."

No person shall carry a pistol in any vehicle or concealed on or about his person, except on his land, in his own home o"r fixed place of business, without a license"

A bit of conflict there, don't you think? Still, much better than NYC, or even NY state.
