Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?
. . .
I do not believe I have proposed anything that is contrary to what has been considered Republican principle. It is at the same time the very basis of conservatism. It is time to reassert that principle and raise it to full view. And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way.

Newt was talking to Hannity about this tonight and he was right -- this is EXACTLY what we need to do now.

The parallels to today are chilling, especially abandoning Vietnam, and our national honor as well. Schwarzenegger needs to get off his now-flabby ass and read this speech.

Leaders are not only born, they're made.

In my view, the real strength of Ronaldus Maximus was his possession of a positive vision for the future with the ability to effectively communicate it and inspire others to aspire to that vision.

Perhaps he was a one in a million. But you know what, America *does* have 300 million people.

Thanks for the post.

It is amazing how Reagan said something 32 years ago, before he was even President, that is still true right now, tonight.

God Bless you, President Reagan.

Wow...check this out honey.

It's amazing how true this is for today, almost 32 years after it was written.

Few, if any, Democratic party candidates in the last election ran as liberals

Still true today.

"Let them go their way." Bump.

I don ‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, “We must broaden the base of our party”—when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents...

It was a feeling that there was not a sufficient difference now between the parties that kept a majority of the voters away from the polls. When have we ever advocated a closed-door policy? Who has ever been barred from participating?

Thank you so much for posting this Ronald Reagan's words live on. We MUST continue the fight! Very inspirational!!! God bless you.

Reagan leads us again from the grave.

I'm thinking we call our regroup and RINO hunt Operation Bold Colors.

Reading these words, given years ago, make my heart glow. Bump and distribute to every GOP member of Congress and the Senate.

Rush likes to say that Conservatism triumphs wherever it's tried. But when the Party runs and hides from its conservative values, as they have been doing for years now, those values do them no good. We'd be seeing some different headlines today if the GOP had remembered Reagan's words about "bold colors" versus "pale pastels".

I thought this would be a fitting reminder on the tenth anniversary of the passing of President Reagan.

I believe that this speech truly explains how conservatives need to deal with the GOPe and their efforts to destroy conservatism.

I was thinking this morning that The Obama years are starting to look like the Carter years. Carter led to Reagan. Will history repeat itself? Who could come even close to him. Only one I know. Sarah, your country needs you. Now!

Ronaldus Magnus, 40 years ahead of his time.

KC, Uniparty ping, if you please.
