RE: "In another recent survey, of 35,000 college and university students polled, three-fourths blame American business and industry for all of our economic and social ills. The same three-fourths think the answer is more (and virtually complete) regimentation and government control of all phases of business—including the imposition of wage and price controls. Yet, 80 percent in the same poll want less government interference in their own lives!"

Let's see, in college in late 1974 or early 1975. Let's say for the sake of argument so as to average in undergrad and grad students, 23 years old. Add 32 years. That would make it, 55 years old. Now we see our current problem. Those same students who answered that way run both the private and public sector today. Especially the public sector, because a 1974 Lefty is highly likely to have become a lawyer then gone into politics.

Good observation. Government is always a generational thing. The opinions and morals each generation had in their youth permeate the society when they enter their 50s and 60s and take over major leadership positions.

Luckily, "Reagan-era youth" are getting older and closer to taking the reins.

That'll be great for awhile -- until "Clinton-era youth" get their turn ... Shudder!
