ATLANTIC CITY It may have been unethical for Atlantic City Mayor Bob Levy to pass himself off as a member of U.S. Army Special Forces for years, but it does not appear to be illegal.
Even under a proposed federal law, Levy likely would not appear to be subject to criminal penalties. Generally, it is only a crime for a person to use military records to get direct benefits they would otherwise not be entitled to.
Time for the Stolen Honor Act to be implimented, before the Dem's get the power.
This guy won the election as Mayor of AC partly on his stolen honor claims. To me that is a direct benefit, especially since it is AC we are talking about.
"Generally, it is only a crime for a person to use military records to get direct benefits they would otherwise not be entitled to."
So getting elected 'mayor' is not a "direct benefit"?
I fail to see the difference.
I'm actually shocked that someone would do this an election campaign. Boasting falsely in conversation is one thing (no less honorable), but printing it up as credentials? Amazing.
Not true. It's against the law to wear certain medals, but i don't know the details of that.
