Thanks!
The DBM does have one soft spot. It is their belief that they follow "journalistic ethics". They actually believe they're fair and balanced. They're quite arrogantly proud that they have "standards". It's part of their "save-the-world/liberal" worldview.
That is why it's so important to document them when they lie, distort, tell half the story, etc, and to point out when they're not covering an important story at all. We need to be there, with our evidence at hand, accusing them of unethical, unjournalistic behavior. It bugs them. If we go up against them by name, we just might bring them to heel.
But I believe we have to do this, one person at a time, one newspaper at a time, one channel, one broadcast, one editor. When we simply say the media is biased, they tsk tsk it away with their own so-called proof and statistics. They're quite good at distortion and changing the story. But if we have actual evidence, especially word-for-word, it becomes much, much harder to weasel out of the charge. And if we accuse them of journalistically unethical behavior (unethical cuts them to the quick), they might just think twice before they try again, especially if they know they're going to be called on it.

How best to call the media on it, AB? We must put their names in lights. And it should go in the headlines, otherwise we'll have a billion vanity posts, correct? How about
Meet the Press Bias
or Russert liesSeveral websites make a living off of this; Media Reasearch Center, and their off-shoot NewsBusters, and Olbywatch, etc.
As a starter idea, perhaps we append the legitimate searchable news story and headline;
Rove questioned about Plame
with
Rove questioned about Plame (Russert lies)
An example such as this one, finds "Russert lies" in a google search, does it not?

Shooting the Messenger , even one who spins the story their way- DBM is only a small part of the what should be done. In my opinion the reason the Republicans lost are many and have little to do with the DBM.
Tom Delay here in my area made a personal decision to get out too late. This decision lead to this Republican seat going to a Democrat. In two years this seat will revert to a Republican.
As a whole the Republicans, both in the Senate and in the House did very little to give many people a reason to vote for them. The expansion of government with new entitlements, no restraint on spending, Kennedy/Bush education reform, Feingold/McCain free speech limitation legislation is a short list of why many people did not show up to vote.
The bright spot was the Supreme Court nominations that we did get. And the Tex cuts in 2002/2003.
The Republicans will need to be on the offensive, they will need to give people a reason to vote for them. I am looking for the following
1. Lower Taxes
2. Smaller government

Who was press sec. before Tony Snow? The ineffectual Scott McCellan. For over two years he left the msm run every press conference, he was never able to effectivly get any good or important Bush news out by being Mr. Nice Guy. Tony Snow is superb but was given the position too late to be effective in this election. So Freepers, as the old song goes,'Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and start all over again'!

Please add "one neighbor" and "one friend" to your list. All of us know people who do not follow politics as closely as we do and each of these people need to hear the truth as much as the ones you listed.

I have said in another post that our small Community used to have a Conservative type bent, now it is not,it is very much to the left way left of center. This was a strategy that the Large Newspaper Companies have been pushing all over the Nation. It has been mostly accomplished, and other freepers can also document how their formerly Conservative Newspapers have suddenly taken on New Editors and gone radically to the left. This was not coincidence, it was a concerted effort by the Left Wingers, and we have to change this. The Editor for our local Newspaper 'Highlands today" laughed at how the Democrats were violating Campaign Finance Laws at the Annual County Fair Booth, and the Republicans were strictly adhering to the Law. This is a man that is supposed to have Journalistic Integrity and he is laughing at Law abider's and patting the law breakers on the back. I will not give his name here, but if anyone wants his name and how to email him just freepmail me. He resembles Corzine the NJ Governor who bought and paid for his Senate Seat and the Governor's seat.

Shoot....all you have to do is watch one hour of Sissy Chrissy's Hairball show....and it would keep you busy for a month, trying to dispell his LIES.
He has lied about what President Bush said about Iraq, in the run up to the war...every single day since the war started.

Just want to say that you could not be more right on. I am FULLY on board and intend to hold persons of the media accountable. Tell me where and when, and I will be there.
