Stop watching and reading. Many have. I used to subscribe to the New York Times though I don't live in NY. A few years ago I quit, but kept up my subscription to their Book Review.
Next month the Book Review subscription runs out. After more than twenty years, I'm not renewing.
I will have nothing further to do with the MSM.
Problem is anything written in the NYSlimes is repeated all across the country as fact! Their reporting is considered gospel everywhere.
