God have mercy on us!

Rick in CFR! God forbid!

Please, Lord, he can't be THAT clueless. I suppose you use some of us in mysterious ways your wonders to perform . . . but that's very hard to fathom, Lord.

I think the Purpose Driven Life is a great piece of work.

Since I don't adore someone just for writing a book though, I guess what he does now does not impact my thinking much. It might affect whether I would purchase a new book from him. It would depend on the content and how it is reviewed.

His comments in Syria, if true, are disturbing. Who cares if he is a member of the CFR? He probably got a nice ballcap and t-shirt out of the deal.

How can anyone now think that Rick Warren is a conservative Evangelical? He is a liberal, new-age Contemplative Spiritualist.

The moment I picked his books up I knew I couldn't follow the teachings. Something wasn't quite right when I listened to my heart.

God warns us of false teachers and prophets.

Rick Warren never saw a TV or photo Op that he could refuse. It would violate his great marketing plan if he would turn down any such chance for publicity.

Hmmmm. We should ask Joe Farrah's ex-wife and daughters if Joe has any credibility himself.

I think the same could be said for a lot of these people. I think they started out in good faith but they became corrupted by fortune and fame.

Pride comes before destruction.

Sounds like Rick Warren is on the same track as Ted Haggard.

May his impending fall facilitate a humility that turns his heart toward the Lord.

This is not a case of being clueless. It is a case of his head getting too big. He has gone native. He is sort of a gimmicky guy and so he is easy to manipulate. He should be shunned.

Of course he's not that clueless, He is a deceiver and always has been.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2Peter 2:1

"I think the same could be said for a lot of these people. I think they started out in good faith but they became corrupted by fortune and fame."

No doubt. Rick Warren was wrong from the beginning of his books, when he used the psychology of Carl Jung. It was a red flag to many, but his popularity soared because he offered an easy road. Now the chickens are coming home to roost, as his real motives are revealed.

My dad had a saying about preacher's who inserted themselves into controversy.

"They're building a kingdom...I'm not sure it's the Lord's."
