Evening. Do either of you or anyone else here know
any good albums with classic "folk" songs? I mean
songs like "Barbara Allen" & "Aura Lee". I was
looking around for good renditions of these songs.
I figured I'd ask on the off chance someone here
might know, I'm getting a bit frustrated. Most of
the albums I've come across have murdered renditions.

I have a CD I'll load up, "American Folk Anthology", and play for you. It's got a nice version of Barbara Allen.
If you haven't already, you can go to CD Universe, or another CD on-line store, and do a Search by song for Aura Lee and Barbara Allen. The site will list all the CD's with that song, and you can listen to a sample of each. Maybe you will find one you like!
