Hannity goes for Brokeback (Hannity Has a Dating Service?)
LA Times ^ | 28 November 2006 | Joel Stein

HAVE I EVER wondered what a wonderful world it would be if only my fans could get together, talk about how great I am and fall in love over their joint love for me? Sure, but unlike Fox News commentator Sean Hannity, I haven't done anything about it. At Hannity.com, in addition to enjoying the book club (Newt Gingrich, Jeff Foxworthy), song club (Charlie Daniels Band, Martina McBride), photos (Hannity's Insanity in Phoenix) and comic books ("Liberality for All" is set in 2021 and has a bionic Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy, Oliver North and a man born on Sept. 11, 2001, fighting to save a U.S. controlled by the U.N., including Ambassador Osama bin Laden), visitors can log on to Hannidate.

Conservatives need late-night, out-of-town hookups just as much as liberals. They also, it seems, need some hot man-on-man action. If you pull down the menu on Hannidate, you can select "I am a male, seeking a male." This was surprising because not even eHarmony allows same-sex pairings. Stranger still for a Fox News commentator's site, you can select ZIP Codes in Beverly Hills, Provincetown and San Francisco.

Nearest one to me is in Cary, NC, about 1-1/2 hours from me.

But it turns out Hannity was well aware of the gay Hannidate feature and is fine with it.

Holy cow, it appears I lost my bet in post #2.

Looks like more a result of Hannity's careless greed than any pro-gay agenda. It's more proof to me that Hannity's not real bright. (OTOH, he's a match for colmes and most lefties)

Good point. I heard that interview. Hewitt showed the creep for what he is. For some reason, libs like playing "gotcha" with conservatives. I can't believe Hannity chose this option. I agree with others it was prob a case of outsourcing to someone who used a set menu.

Because during the Ask Dr. Hannity segment of his show he'd get singles bemoaning their lonely hearts and he figured since he had so many millions of fans of like mind he'd create a place on his forum for them to connect. I didn't realize it had morphed into a dating site, but hey, it doesn't surprise me. But being such a supposedly morality driven guy I didn't realize he was so gay friendly. Wonder if he's softening up on abortion too.

You still may be right and he will close the homosexual dating option; however, only under duress. I still say the problem here is one of good manners and taste; hence, he has made his Web site "tacky" by trying to trade on something better sourced elsewhere.

We know he has read Free Republic in the past, maybe he will get the message:

Conservatives do not approve of a gay lifestyle.

He never mentions the threat to our society that homosexuality does.

I bet the same sex option is gone before the day's over.

Who cares? What difference does it make?

A night of brown meat all the way around.

OK, I'll stop...;^)

He stated it was a no-win situation because he'd get criticized if he allowed homosexuals on the site or if he didn't. Apparently, alienating a good portion of his audience was less of a concern than homosexual activists and PC-types.

He also labeled those pursuing the story as hypocrites.
