Joel Stein I believe is the writer who did not want parades for veterans of the Iraq War because "he can't stand the traffic". Is this the guy I am thinking of? Any Freepers familiar with this story? If it is the same person he is a REAL JERK.
Not sure about that, but Stein is a Gen-X "humor" writer. And, if I'm not mistaken, was a big winner on Idiot Savants, a very tough quiz show back in the mid-90's. While I disagree with some things he says, I find him to be very funny and intelligent. Of course, I'm about the same age so that might have something to do with it.
