Cute. I'm a conservative to the core, for more than four decades and in every area of life. How bout you, sly?

Most of the people on this board who call people like me 'RINO's' are conservative in one or two areas, but not most, and on an issue by issue basis aren't even close.

Usually they make me laugh.......especially when they're trying to be cute.....

Why should we trust a guy who never understood the essence of "Reaganism" in the first place analyzing it's supposed demise? The Dems aren't even in power of Congress yet, and they're rolling around in their own hubris.

"Reaganism Is Dead"

Never was alive to dems and in the past 10 years under republican leadership, they did kill it. Chucky's more right then wrong.

It's been dead in the minds of politicians, but I'm not so sure it's dead in the minds of the public.

The public hasn't had a lot of viable choices for small government politicians.

They've had to choose between big government Republicans and bigger government Democrats.

They were unhappy with the Democrats, so the Republicans gained in power, but the Republicans kept expanding the reach of the government into the lives of the people without the people seeing much in a way of benefits from those intrusions.

So we're swinging back toward the Democrats. Not really because the democrat's message is gaining traction with the public. After all the Democrats really aren't pushing their own message, they are just spinning stories of doom and gloom and telling people how bad everything is and that it's all the Republicans fault. They don't do much to suggest solutions, because their solutions have never gained them much popularity with the general public.

The current approach of the Republican party is failing to capture the hearts of the public, but I'm not convinced that Democrats are going to capture their hearts either.

Slick Willy managed to do it by being charismatic and being lucky enough to get voted in as the sound economic policies of the previous administration finally kicked in. He rode high on the accomplishments of others, which he undid during his terms and he left office with the economy back in a recession.

Right now our government appears to be floundering around because the one thing they have done well (foreign policy) has been attacked so successfully by the press and the liberals with a constant stream of negativity that we are crippled politically.

Our politicians are spending all their efforts playing power games or trying to defend against the power games of others.

Now that the Dems are back in power in Congress, we can already see that they aren't going to try and push through an agenda. They aren't going to lead our country on some great path. They are going to lay low and keep blaming things on the Republicans and keep trying to gather more political power.

That's their only real goal. The rest is the window dressing they use to gather and maintain that power.

one of his campaign promises was to reduce the size and scope of government, including doing away with the Dept. of Education

Please site evidence for this with a link.

Candidate Bush campaigned on education, not on 'doing away with the Dept. of Education.'

That was Reagan, who did not fulfill his campaign promise.

And calling him unprincipled because he didn't stop women (who had volunteered) from combat? That's more of a stretch than can be dealt with here....

Then rather than continue to cheerlead (the election is over) and chastize voters for not believing in the RINO administration, direct your legendary efforts to returning the GOP to its Conservative roots, and the rest will take care of itself.

Why don't I hear this buffoon arguing for a 30% marginal tax rate increase spread over threee years? The ensuing explosion of economic expansion would go a long way toward making his case.

I don't think there's a way to measure the hatred Democrats feel for President Ronald Reagan. But this vindictive "Reaganism is dead" Schumer rant, gives us a clue.

Schumer exposes his hateful heart all right, but most important he reveals what he and liberals fear the most, another Ronald Reagan waiting in the wings.

How about rather than continue to hail the victory of Dems over so-called 'RINO's' that you stop your incessant attacks on genuine conservatives on this forum?

We need to get back to conservatism as a party, alright, which is why I actively campaigned for deeply conservative candidates here in Ohio.

I'm interested in the truth, Stallone. If you call that 'cheerleading' maybe you should look more closely at history yourself.

We could go on. But what's the point?

Yes, what is the point when you don't seem to either have or deal in facts.

Reaganism was replaced with 'kinder gentler' in '88.

When it reprises it will sweep all before it.

Heard some interesting comments on that subject last night. This author indicated (correctly IMHO) that after the 2000 election W was going to rule strictly on a 50% + 1 majority, and when you lose that one, things go bad quickly.

Any pics of Chuckie chasing the wambulance carrying the deceased conservative party's carcass? Sounds like a malpractice suit could be in order, if true.

Way to go, NY. And folks think California voters are ,, uh,, suspect.

Amazing who they both want, NO, tolerate as their mouthpieces and reps.

There are many of your fellow GOP bashers on this forum who rejoiced in the victory of the Dems on November 7th, as the 'lesson' that needed to be taught (at the expense of everything real conservatives value in this country).

If you were not one of them, I apologize.

I will be working continuously for conservative principles within the GOP and for candidates with some guts to stand up to the RATS, as I have done before.
