The Bush Administration has indicated it wants doctors, clinics, and hospitals to provide flu immunizations to illegal immigrants.

In an interview with KFOX-TV, Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt was asked if the federal government has any safeguards to prevent illegal immigrants from catching the flu. Leavitt responded by saying doctors should give flu shots to "every person."..............

My 91-year-old mother cannot get a flu shot because 1) her doctor has not been able to get the serum, 2) the local town health center does not have the serum, 3) local chains like CVS and Walgreens who do offer the shots never seem to have it either.
But, illegals are going to get it????????????

The fact is, that EVERYONE does not want to get the flu shot, even if it was free.

I can't wait for the first Illegal or family of an illegal, to sue the hell out of our gov't when they get a severe reaction or die..because they didn't understand what an allergy to eggs meant.

These people are living in our country illegally...yet we keep sending them signals we are going to take care of them. It's insane.

If YOU get YOUR flu shot, and your family gets theirs, you shouldn't have to worry about an epidemic.

I don't think this is true. The flu virus mutates all the time. That's why they change the formula every year. Any population of people that has a high rate of flu is a breeding ground for new strains that will affect the rest of us.

It's been a long time since we had a major flu epidemic but when it happens it's not just a few sniffles and a fever. Lots of people die from it. Send them back or not, it's important for our health to protect those that are here.
