Until I came to Alaska.. all the other places then diminished in significance..

There is spectacular scenery in the Anchorage area. But, I was considering the people as well. Most in Anchorage got there relatively recently. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing, but the society is still in upheaval. I like a society that has had a few centuries or more to settle down.
