" A governor, especially one who can pass himself off as a moderate has a very good chance of winning."

Oh. no!! That's what people say about our gov.--Butch Napolitano.

Also, he should be able to carry his home state of New Mexico, a small prize to be sure (4 electoral votes), but lost by Kerry in 2004. As a Hispanic, he can help the ticket in the neighboring states of Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada, all of which are "light red", and perhaps Florida as well.

Why would anyone need NM, CO, AZ, NV and FL to win the presidential election?

If he is the VP Nominee it is going to be a tough race for the GOP.

I don't believe that America wants to vote for open borders or amnesty.

The Republicans have to nominate someone who will tell the truth..that our society will change for the worse and we will eventually go bankrupt on social services if this keeps up. We are approaching anarchy.

Face it. Very few people in power in business or politics wants real Border Security. Not President Bush and not even Gov. Perry of Texas. and while the US Congress voted for a border fence they failed to fund the project.

Agree with your analysis.

The only fly in the ointment I can see is Webb's election to the Senate. If the Clintons think Webb could bring in more Southern electoral votes than Richardson can Western (and/or Florida), they might throw him over.

New Fox Poll has Rudy ahead of Mccain and only a negative 9% among conservatives.

He's running for vice president.

You got that right. He wants to be the token latino for the she-devil. Obama is going to announce that's he's queer and is converting to islam so that he can cover multiple special interest groups for the demonRATS. At the same time, since he's half-black, he can claim he eats grits {gets the southern vote} and his dad {who left his mom in true african-American tradition} so he can claim the single mom vote. hillary is having bj restrict his sexual encounters to latino women only, playing for the hispanic vote. Since they are all thugs, they will get the union backing and they don't give a fat rat's ass about white males that don't fit into any of the above slots.

To quote a California State Senator when he was reading Arnies proposed health plan.... I don't think California should become the HMO provider for Mexico.... change that to the USA instead of California.

Two years is an eternity and if the dems push through both Amnesty and a health plan (ala Hillarycare) then I don't think someone like Richardson, who is an open border kind of guy, will be elected dogcatcher. A lot of Arizona Hispanics have voted for our voter ID ammendment and tougher laws against public services for illegal immigrants.

Dead. On. Arrival

Disagree.

Richardson has often been able to sound reasonable, and his TV presence and appearance is above average, in my view.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss him.

Call me paranoid, but Richardson is the one Democratic candidate who I think could get enough crossover votes to put a hurtin on the GOP.

Some investigative psy-ops of Richardson's past policies is definitely warranted.

Right...Rchardson and Obama...both know Hillary is
in..they are the ones going for VP. It kinda puts
the Clintons (2 for 1) in a spot....if they take one,
the other will be consideed the minority, minority..
The whole process will be entertaining if you can stand
the BS of all involved....JK

Me too, and if I thought he had a chance I'd be concerned. But, I don't think he has a shot.

The scariest scenario would be Bayh-Richardson.

That ticket would likely retain all the 2004 Kerry States and add IN, OH, NM, AZ and CO.

Angling for the #2 spot, behind The Beast, has begun in earnest. Hillary:
"Hmm, I'm really torn between that nice, young mulatto with zero experience to help lock in the black vote and the dumb Mexican so the illegals will fall in line. Nevermind, I OWN those votes to begin with. I wonder how some obscure midwestern governor would fit in? Someone, quick, bring me the dossier and incriminating video on Vilsac."
