Despite the sordid and pathetic subject matter, I've seen a few of these Dateline shows and found them to be compelling TV.

I'm sure they would love to - as you mention, it would be really compelling. Thing is, there aren't as many women soliciting underage boys for sex. And those that do usually don't need to go on the internet to find victims.

Yeah, this particular sting set-up is oriented to male perps, but it seems to me that female offenders get plenty of camera time on other news shows -- much more than males accused of similar crimes.

It seems like most people find female offenders more interesting, and somehow less repellent -- at least if they're good looking.
