Please don't take offense at this, but this move is obviously purely symbolic. Closing down the British Council English language program is only hurting those who wanted to study there. Furthermore, you'll find the most popular English language schools in Moscow are those that offer "American" English and/or American Business English. Just a plain fact, not a commentary on the merits of American English over British English and vice versa.

I'm sick of this rubbish. Putin's fan club bullies our ambassador. The BBC World Service is mysteriously blocked. Our investigation into Litvinenko's death has run into a brick wall. I'm absolutely fed up with the attitude of the Russian government.
