Geez, guys! You come across as authors of a book titled: "The Audacity of NO Hope". Sure, you see yourselves as realistic, but do you suggest we throw in the towel right now, give up, don't bother voting in '08?

My only hope is that you're wrong. I am sure you do, too.

OK, I'll bite. Who can I vote for?

I'm not gonna vote for a dem, unless they get struck by lightning and run Zell Miller (and I'm more likely to get struck by lightning, while tearing open my winning lottery ticket that I found on the seat of the Maseratti that I was just left when my rich uncle (whom I never knew I had) died and willed it to me.)

And, I'm not gonna vote for one of the Three Stooges that GOP Central Casting has decreed to be my only (ahem) "viable" choices.

And, if I vote for a third party, it's not going to matter. (Of course, I live in the PRofMichigan, so even if I do vote Republican, it won't matter anyway!)

So there. It's moot! (For me, at least.)

I guess I'll just write in Tom Tancredo -- just like I did last time.

A freshman senator with only 2 years gone in his term would never be seriously considered presidential material....unless he was black. That's his principal "qualification."

To quote the Washington Post, "the only thing he brings to the table is the color of his skin."

Of course, they were talking about Michael Steele, but it's their words, not mine.

I think we underestimate him at our own peril.
He went to Harvard law specializing in constitutional law and graduated near the top of his class.

The same folks on FR who were posting "Rove you magnificent bastard" pics before getting our clocks cleaned in 06 now want to stick their heads in the sand regarding Obama.

Come to think of it, I did read something about Obama's involvement in a campaign finance scandal not too long ago. Like with any of these politicians, it's not that the information isn't there, it's that most people don't have it--and won't get it. None of it is as well-known as the Clintons' sordid affairs, in which Hillary was deeply involved.

As an irrelevant side note, one of the things I hate hearing, is liberals who say something to the effect of they don't want B. Clinton's time in office to reflect on Hillary. It is only because it did that she is a viable candidate for anything, even dog catcher or Wicked Witch of the West (maybe she could hold both together? Then she could finally catch Toto).

Besides, a slick personality goes a long way towards being able to make folks forget about the money-under-the-table dealings.

Thanks for the reminder. If B.O. actually makes any progress, that W.P. quote should be hung around their neck often.

" He went to Harvard law specializing in constitutional law and graduated near the top of his class."

Am I supposed to be impressed? He is still a worthless SOB. Dan Quayle would get more votes than Barrack Hussein Osama.

It may be time to revive this thread. Mike Gallagher today was citing pages of “Audacity of Hope” which indicated that the US should look to Hugo Chavez and Venezuela for ideas about economic populism and also Islam for concepts that could apply to the US. Does anyone have specific references or quotations?
