Yes, you're right,they did ridicule her too. I really hadn't thought about all this for years, but it's coming back. And it isn't pleasant.

the one thing I see, and it truly amazes me every time, is the "stonewall" faces of the military..they approach it as a true honor be be there escorting the body and do so with a professionalism that is beyond words..God Bless Them..and God Bless Gerald Ford..

I'm not certain who they vilified more, Betty Ford or Nancy Reagan I'd say Nancy .. because Reagan was in office longer then Ford
But I still remember hearing some news clips on TV and how they treated Betty

Amen. I am as moved by the military honor guard as I am by the fact that President Ford has passed on and this is his casket. My respect for our military deepens every day.

yes, my husband was saying that back at Reagan's funeral and now this one. Their precision and professionalism is beautiful.
