Several men with customs uniforms have taken a lot of pictures, and now one is in the cab and they are moving the truck deeper into the port (and out of prying reporter camera range).

I don't suppose that there's much point in smuggling people or stuff ~out~ of the U.S.

Not that I'm clever enough to think of.

Just dropping in to post this real quick. You all might be interested in some of the 'back stories' surrounding this port:

The deputy Director of the Port of Miami is a muslim with ties to terror groups...Go figure...(rolling eyes)

I heard them say earlier that there were 6 cruise ships in the port. Truck is being moved further into the port as per FOX.

Within the last 2 minutes...

Customs & Border Protection there taking pictures.

Man (police?) entered the cab, truck running and moving. Headed into port. Has full escort.

Things one would want to smuggle out of the USA:

Classified documents
Illegal weapons
Terrorists who are on the watch list and managed to avoid detection here but can't get through the airports
American criminals who want to hook up with terrorists
Biological equipment that can be used to manufacture bio-weapons

A truck bomb could take out two cruise ships at the same time.

Now you're thinking in the right direction.

I incline to think they were picking something up, but it could be they were dropping off something for shipment out.

The Ongoing Threat to Cruise Ships

http://www.stratfor.com/products/premium/read_article.php?id=259655

Even while in port, a cruise ship is vulnerable to a terrorist attack. Some aspects of an attack in port make that scenario extremely dangerous, because of traffic congestion and the fact that the ship would be moving slowly. An attack similar to the October 2000 suicide bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in Aden, Yemen, would have devastating results on a cruise ship. The crew would not see the a bomb-laden suicide boat coming from as far away as they would on the high seas and would not have much time (or space) to react and maneuver. Unlike a warship -- built to withstand attacks from missiles, bombs, and torpedoes -- cruise ships lack structural reinforcements and built-in damage control systems. The bomb that nearly sunk the Cole, then, could easily sink a much larger cruise ship.

Seaboard, but that is a fairly common container logo.

They were going to "Pull a Cole" on a cruise ship.
