I'd like to hear from Freepers what they would do in a case like this. I am calling the SeaTac Airport Manager's office tomorrow. I will write President Bush. That's all I can think to do at the moment.

On my last trip through airport security I watched them give the full treatment to an old guy who was so frail he could hardly put his shoes back on.

You should contact the most powerful grandmother in America, Speaker Pelosi. If the Dems are as shrewd as they usually are, they will realize how sick and tired we are of having our elderly harassed at our airports and they will pass a law banning it. That will garner them thousands of votes in the next election.

Your mother in law should have disguised herself as a 19 to 34-year-old man of middle eastern descent, carrying jihad propaganda and detailed maps of the New York subway system. She would have been in in a flash.

"Copenhagen good, Seattle no good". As a thiry-year plus Seattle area resident, I would have to agree...

The buck has to stop somewhere and I put it directly on the desk of President Bush. He nominated Moron Mineta to head the DOT and has made no effort to reverse that mistake.

I'm so sorry for your MIL. That story is truly dreadful.

Call your local newspaper and your local congresscritter -- someone needs to put this front and center... and soon. It's an outrage.

It would seem that Lithuanian grandmothers send shivers of fear down the spines of customs officials. Yet mid-eastern men in garb that says "I am a radical" are waved right on past, lest we be accused of profiling.

Today she is doting on her grandson and both are all smiles."

So, she's fine?

But her impression of America or at least Seattle SeaTac airport is forever a memory of fear."

Take her to a Walmart superstore and she will forget all about it.

Most Western countries need immigration reform and badly - harmless visitors, like your Mother in Law, and those who play by the rules in trying to migrate to the West, get treated with severity and suspicion. Yet, illegals get promises of amnesty. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Regards, Ivan

Heh, heh. Seatac is where my wifes friend turned a corner in the lower level maintenance area and found three TSA agents rifling through a large suitcase, clothes strewn everywhere.

But it is not just Seatac. If you don't speak the native toungue of a country that is seriously concerned about who enters, and then try to enter that country, there is the potential for a major Fubar. Personal ones are the worst kind.

Looks like we need more interpretters.

The easiest way would be to fly her into Tijuana and run her across the border in a rental truck.
