If members of Congress have suggestions about improvements to be made we will listen!!! (Take that Ms Pelosi)
We are fighting in Iraq for our children and our grandchildren.
(I bet his speechwriters chuckled a bit when they wrote that line.)

I think that as important as the surge of troops. This is the beautiful surprise in President Bush speech that it was not given to the media in the pre-speech release.

That'll be the day is right. He tossed a peace offering at congress and they'll kick him in the teeth. We'll see how the electorate reacts.
He really needs to speak in prime time a lot more often.

In these dangerous times, we're blessed to have selfless women and men who step forward and defend us. They understand the cause is noble and necessary. The call of freedom is the call of our times.
The families sacrifice empty chairs at the dinner table. We mourn the loss of every fallen American.
The year ahead will demand more resolve and patience . It is tempting to think we can put aside the burdens of freedom. But we've always defied the pessimists.

Given the overt strikes in Somalia, my very strong suspicion is that the whole Ethiopian invasion was a US covert operation - probably with the support of US Special Forces and air power, as well as logistical support.

A young democracy is fighting for its life. The terrorists are without conscience. Even if our new strategy works exactly as planned, we must expect more casualties. Success won't look like the ones our fathers and grandfathers achieved. There will be no surrender ceremony on a battleship.Holy cow, you're quick!!! And a perfect memory to boot! ;)
I only got 30% of that quote, and a couple of posts after that to boot. :) What, do you type 100 wpm?!
Now paying tribute to soldiers and their families. "We mourn the loss of every fallen American, and we owe it to them to build a future worthy of their sacrifice..."
And now I'm way behind you, I bet. :)

I'm reading this speech as: "You RATs might run Congress now, but I AM THE PRESIDENT!"
And I love it.

there it is again - the burdens of freedom / see our freedoms redeeemed / the author of liberty will guide us through these trying hours....
I won't bank any money on the fact that any ONE of the presstitutes will even mention that beloved word - FREEDOM!

"But in 2006, the opposite happened. The violence in Iraq particularly in Baghdad overwhelmed the political gains the Iraqis had made. Al Qaeda terrorists and Sunni insurgents recognized the mortal danger that Iraqs elections posed for their cause. And they responded with outrageous acts of murder aimed at innocent Iraqis. They blew up one of the holiest shrines in Shia Islam the Golden Mosque of Samarra in a calculated effort to provoke Iraqs Shia population to retaliate. Their strategy worked. Radical Shia elements, some supported by Iran, formed death squads. And the result was a vicious cycle of sectarian violence that continues today.
The situation in Iraq is unacceptable to the American people and it is unacceptable to me. Our troops in Iraq have fought bravely. They have done everything we have asked them to do. Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me."
