My question is this: If Obama was indeed raised Muslim, as a President, a fatwa could be proclaimed against him as an apostate. This is not a small matter in terms of national security. The president could be conceivably targeted for assassination not just for political reasons, but out of religious duty. The only way around this is for Obama to declare himself a Muslim, and not a Christian convert. Either way, the question needs to be asked, and it certainly presents a problem for his presidential aspirations given the magnified security risk.

So this blows the Clinton/Obama ticket theory out of the water. Unless people don't care if he's a Muslim (which wouldn't surprise me). If Obama makes just one appearance as a guest judge on "American Idol", that's it he's in.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me earlier. It's a legitimate concern and would force him to put his cards on the table, either publicly accepting or disavowing Islam.

The democrats just elected a muslim congressman. To them, America is the enemy. Hillary is taking a chance on this one. The democrat base will pick a muslim over an American any day.

Although Indonesia is regarded as a moderate Muslim state, the U.S. intelligence community has determined that today most of these schools are financed by the Saudi Arabian government and they teach a Wahhabi doctrine that denies the rights of non-Muslims.

 

Oh for God's sake.  The man was in school in Indonesia in the '60s.  It doesn't matter a damn bit what these schools teach today.  Yale is much more liberal today than it was in the '60s when GWB was in college. Does that mean he's a closet liberal.  Ignorant article.

 

The attack on Obama should be the claim he is a person that can work across the aisle with Republicans, compromise, mend the sharp divide found in Washington DC today.  The following are a few of Obama's positions.

• Pass the Stem Cell Research Bill
• Supports Roe v. Wade
• Against Constitutional ban on flag desecration
• Against ban of same-sex marriage
• Against the death penalty
• Voted against drilling in ANWR
• Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security
• Wants to "restrain" the President during war

I'm wondering which of these he is willing to compromise on.  My bet is that his idea of compromise is crossing the aisle and voting in favor of naming an aircraft carrier after a Republican.

I have heard that the penalty for leaving Islam is death, so I am not an expert on this. So this premise does not sound far-fetched to me and is worth consideration.
