He can win Democrat votes as well. I'm sure there are significant numbers of male Democrats out there who do not feel comfortable putting a woman in the White House just yet.
I have some Democrat friends who are going to vote for Rudy. They have NOT forgotten the leadership he showed in NYC. That's a big criteria for the. We don't get along politically all the time but they do appreciate leadership like I do.
Well Rudy isn't the only male in the field, otherwise you'd have a good point.
Sadly, after watching enough races I'm pretty well convinced that more women will vote for a woman on the basis of her being a woman than there are men who will vote against a woman for being a woman.
Between that and the fact that Dem turnout is highly reliable and predictable (while GOP turnout is much more volatile) this doesn't seem all that doable.
