Tom Cruise is not just one of Hollywood's leading actors, he is also the new 'Christ' of Scientology, leaders of the religion apparently believe.
Reports in the Sun newspaper claim that he has been told he is the "chosen one" to spread news about the faith.
Leader David Miscavige also believes that in years to come the Mission: Impossible actor will be worshipped like Jesus for his efforts to raise the profile of the religion, according to the British tabloid.
A source said to be close to Cruise told the paper: "Tom has been told he is Scientology's Christ-like figure.
"Like Christ, he's been criticised for his views. But future generations will realise he was right."
Cruise joined the Church of Scientology in the 1980s. It was founded by L. Ron Hubbard and is, according to its website, "the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all of life".
At Cruise's wedding last year to the actress Katie Holmes the pair were reported to have chosen a Scientology ceremony but held a Catholic blessing later to appease her parents.

LOL! Ironically, Cruise was considered by the directors to play Neo in those Matrix movies.

future generations will realise he was right. Future generations, if they've heard of him at all, will realize that he is a total fruit bat, and that Appliantology is to religion what Balsam's Magic Elixir is to medicine.

Somehow, I don't see Cruise voluntarily climbing up on a cross for the rest of us.

I don't think Jesus Christ ever jumped up and down on a (type of) couch like a crazy person!
Thanks! I needed a laugh today!

See, this just goes to show how we all are different. If there was a religion that told me I was their Christ, I would high tail it out of there. If I am their Christ, then boy are they in trouble! Now Tom is narcissistic enough that he has just the opposite reaction.
Last time I looked and read in my bible, Jesus Christ was the son of God and sent to die for our sins. Tom, are you willing to step up to the plate? His answer to that my friends says it all right there. Ready to die now Tom? "no." Well there you have it.
I am willing to bet he is willing to raise a lot of money for the Scientologists. What sort of church does that make Scientology? A money grubbing religion and their Christ is a money maker. HMMMM. Sounds like the Prince of this world--Satan.

No, but I don't see him discouraging this type of statement either. Scientology must be in real trouble if their Messiah is an actor that started his rise to fame in his underwear in a movie about prostitution.

This isn't worth arguing over, but the titles are different (reversed), and the articles are slightly different. Not to mention, this article is put out by inthenews.co.uk, not the Sun. There is new info (a little) in this article. Not that I really care. I just hate the post police. Some people just now getting off from work may have missed the first two articles. Have a good evening.
