The good folks next door in Virginia aren't usually as gullible as this kneejerk of electing Webb ... alot of blame rests with the incumbent Senator and his feckless showing. But really, Webb?
I do agree with you about George Allen's campaign.
I know a few people in Virginia and they said (near as they could tell) that Allen did not run a good campaign - the macaca episode aside.
OTOH, the Washington Post REALLY went out of their way to take shots at Allen every chance they could. They employed a kind of death by a thousand cuts technique.
