Rudy will appoint strict constructionists to the bench, which negates his stand on the social issues.

&&
Huh? He is pro-abortion, pro-special treatment for homosexuals, and anti-second amendment. I can't see how judicial appointments can eradicate that record.

Sorry, but I won't be voting for Rudy in the Republican primaries, because I'm looking for someone MORE conservative than President Bush, not less.

So far, I'm liking Duncan Hunter,...

&&
Same here. If you wouldn't mind, could you please ping me to any threads that help us to learn more about Hunter?

You and me both.

Can you imagine: an articulate, intelligent, strong Republican commander-in-chief?

It's almost too much to hope for.

Hunter has to do something to call attention to himself. It wouldn't hurt to come out strong for the surge if only to remind the country that it's a hard world out there.

I know....I was so happy this morning I went and donated $100! Rudy articulated in 50 seconds last night why we are in this war on terror in a way Bush hasn't been able to in 6 years. That's just sad. Can you imagine actually looking forward to hearing from the President? I know there are people here who love Bush, but he is a terrible communicator and that must change.

This is painfully, precisely true.

Can you imagine where we would be today if Bush had Rudy's communication skills?

Actually, Rudy can win the Presidency if he also chooses a conserv VP running mate.

Excellent suggestion.

I've lived most of my life there, and I think that the only people more brain dead than the Dem Socialists are the pseudoRepublicans like Rudy, Gulotta, Bruno, Pataki, Marino, Skelos, etc.

Again, its an island off the coast of America. ;-)

I won't vote for a guy who's going to make me bury my guns in the backyard and forget where the hole is.

"My advice is, tell your neighbors and get out and volunteer to spead the truth about Rudy to those who are unaware."

Good advice!

PLUS, write letters to editors INCLUDING religious newspapers.

And life under the Pantsuit's reign will be happy and carefree? Forget the guns, we gals will be in burqas.

I don't think you understand. To someone who cares about the second amendment as a primary concern, there is basically no difference between Rudy and Hillary. In my view, they are both equally wrong.

I'm not a one issue voter, but I view supporting the second amendment as the perfect litmus test because if you are one of those people who believes that greater security comes from more government control (as do both Rudy and Hillary) then the last place that I want you to be is deciding public policy issues. If you make me surrender my right to self defense, then you will have no problem making me surrender all my other rights as well because you feel it would be better for everyone.

The person I vote for in 2008 will be an active supporter of the second amendment, the right to keep and bear arms, and the right of each law abiding individual in this country to defend themselves from bodily harm. On this issue, I will not negotiate, and I will not be persuaded otherwise.

When Rudy was the Mayor, I was living in an apartment on the north end of Times Square. I think he did a great job for the city of New York before 9/11 and a good job after as well. I've met him several times, and I like him personally.

But with all that said I think he will make a terrible President of the United States. Some people think he's tainted because of the marital issues. I think they'll effect his ability to get elected, but I have an ex-wife too so I'm not one to judge him too harshly for it.

All the same though I do think he's tainted.... not by marital trouble but by being a New Yorker. He was the best of a bad lot in New York city where he could be compared to shameless race baiters like Charles Barron or unreconstructed Marxists like Randi Weingarten, but measured against the country at large he's a devout liberal and there is simply no way I can support him for president.

He may be the only lucid person in the insane asylum, but at the end of the day he's an inmate not staff.

Thank you for explaining your views. And yes, I do understand. However, think about your liberties under the Pantsuit's reign. What kind of country would we be? And would we even survive against radical Islam?
