Edwards' Bloggers Apologize for Comments

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards said Thursday he was personally offended by the provocative messages two of his campaign bloggers wrote criticizing the Catholic church, but he's not going to fire them.
Edwards issued a written statement about the fate of Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan, two days after the head of the conservative Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights demanded they be fired for messages they wrote before working on the campaign.
The campaign distributed written apologies from the two women, who stressed they were writing on personal blogs and not on behalf of the campaign. Edwards said he believes in giving everyone a ``fair shake.''
``I've talked to Amanda and Melissa; they have both assured me that it was never their intention to malign anyone's faith, and I take them at their word,'' Edwards said. ``We're beginning a great debate about the future of our country, and we can't let it be hijacked. It will take discipline, focus and courage to build the America we believe in.''

These bloggers will end up fired because the heat will continue to be on Edwards. They may "quit" on their own in order to dampen the lefties outrage at their demise.
Or be forced to shop Wal Mart for a game machine...

My boss never gave me that chance, when I got caught up in the cross burning incident.
Of course it was on his front lawn, so maybe that colored his perspective.

I don't give a damn about the insincere apologies they made to hold on to their jobs.
Edwards has been outed as a closet bigot. He can say Bye-Bye to the Catholic vote.
I tried, but I just can't resist: "They have both assured me it was never their intention to malign anyone's faith, and I take them at their word." So, Breck Girl has depicted himself as either a moron or a liar.
Here's what one of them wrote and there is no way this wasn't meant to malign the Catholic Church and the Catholic faith: "The Catholic church is not about to let something like compassion for girls get in the way of using the state as an instrument to force women to bear more tithing Catholic..." The other one was as bad. If he doesn't recognize that as maligning the religion, then he is bordering on gaga. Too bad he's imploding so soon.
They weren't fired for one simple reason. Edwards agrees with what they said.
"He can say Bye-Bye to the Catholic vote."
Based on what else this self-described "cum-guzzler" has written, he won't be getting the Southern white boy vote either. She still maintains the Duke LAX guys are brutal rapists and she has proof of their guilt.
Make sure you refer to Melissa McEwan as Queen C**t in future postings. After all, that is what she calls herself in her blogs. What a class act.....
The only surprise here is that Edwards is pretending not to support Catholic bashing. Hasn't he read the Liberal Manifesto that despises Christianity in all of its forms? Who does he think he's fooling?
Until now, I expected Melissa would be more crude and offensive than Amanda. Your post proved me wrong.
Huge misstep by Edwards, imo. The stuff those two right is not just anti-religious, it is disgusting filth that it is insane for someone wanting to be president of the US to be associated with. It doesn't matter that they write these things on their "private" blogs. They are, of course, available to be read by anyone.
Logic and reasoning don't really factor in when Republican bigots are on the attack.
