If Newt will run AND CAN BEAT HILLARY, then I am all for him.
But as far as I am concerned, the main criteria for the GOP nominee is someone who can beat Hillary.
(While the MSM is pushing McCain, aside from the fact that I detest him, he most definitely could not beat Hillary. She would make mincemeat out of him).
Also, since Hillary got into the race early, Republicans should start NOW to point out the truth about Hillary, everything from her LACK of qualifications -- being the wife of a president and being senator for a few years is not exactly high qualification for president, to her socialist intentions.
It makes no difference what trash is brought out againt Hillary, she will be the next president. The republicans have failed miserably in grooming potential candidates for 2008. Unfortunately, conservatives have to pay the price for Republicans failures.

She already has 47% negatives and has alienated the anti-war Dem base... Republicans could do a lot worse than to just let her get nominated...
The important question for conservatives is who to nominate that will faithfully and strongly represent conservative values.
1. Newt cannot win
2. Americans already know the truth about Hillary, and they do not care
