Richardson also has the potential to be the biggest threat in the general election. IMO he has about a 100/1 shot at getting the Democratic nomination but if he does get it, IMO he'd beat any GOP nominee but Giuliani.
Bear in mind that Clinton had Richardson and Holbrooke play good cop/bad cop in forcing the Serbs to give up on Bosnia, and I don't remember which of them was the bad cop. If Richardson was the bad cop, he might be mean enough to win the Democratic nomination.
