PRIVATE FIRST CLASS JASON OKON SPENT A YEAR IN IRAQ AND WAS STABBED IN HIS FRONT YARD BY AN ILLEGAL ALIEN. HE IS CURRENTLY IN CRITICAL CONDITION IN A DRUG-INDUCED COMA. HE HAS A WIFE, 2 CHILDREN, AND ONE ON-THE-WAY.
THE ONLY STATION IN TOWN THAT HAS ACCURATELY DESCRIBED THIS AS AN ATTACK BY AN ILLEGAL ALIEN, WAS FOX 10. THIS IS HOPEFULLY GOING TO BE CLASSIFIED AS A HATE CRIME. APPARENTLY JASON ASKED THIS INDIVIDUAL IF HE NEEDED HELP AND THIS MAN STABBED HIM. APPARENTLY HE WAS TARGETED DUE TO HIS MILITARY SERVICE.

Police say 34-year-old Armando Martinez used a kitchen knife to stab Okon in the stomach.
Okon's wife saw what happened and ran to a neighbor's for help, "She was like my husband has been stabbed, my husband has been stabbed", Paul Goetz lives next door.
Goetz says when he went inside the house blood was all over the floor, "I've seen cuts before but this, this was a lot of blood."
The Army soldier was taken to the hospital with a lacerated liver.

In a news conference Tuesday, Elizabeth Okon said she saw her husband get stabbed. She said the suspect, Armando Martinez, lives down the street from them.
Okon said Martinez was standing by the couple's front yard and she asked her husband to see what the man wanted.
"The man lifted up a knife and proceeded through a metal gate that’s in my brick wall, coming onto my property," Okon said. "My husband had said, 'Please don't come into my yard,' and the guy said something in Spanish, I don't know what it was or what it sounded like, and he ran up to my husband within a split second and stabbed him one time and then took off down the street running."
Okon was stabbed in the liver and is listed in stable condition at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital.
