I love Newt. But let's be honest. He can't win the general election because he is too "demonizable" by the left. Unfortunately his name (both Newt and Gingrich) lends itself to easy guttural sounds that the left love to use to mock conservatives. Imagine if his name was Rudy or John or even Mitt. Unfortunately name matters in a General Elections.

I've often said Newt's politcal fortunes would be much greater if his name were different. It's sad but true.
