"As America's child and adult obesity figures rise, National Action Against Obesity (NAAO), calls for a boycott of the reported $700 million in Girl Scout Cookies sold annually."
Yeah, well, tell that to my 57 year-old husband who couldn't resist the adorable blonde-haired, blue-eyed angel who hit him up for "Thin Mints" last weekend (with her equally as beautiful mother carefully watching). I managed to refuse to open the door in the interest of our health the weekend before, but the big baby couldn't resist a "Thin Mint" from such an angelic face, if he were told he'd be excommunicated from the Church for it.
Not only are the cookies wonderful, but the salespeople are irresistable.
"Not only are the cookies wonderful, but the salespeople are irresistable."
Not when their obnoxious mother sets up a table by herself at the grocery store entry.
I went grocery-shopping last weekend, and there were about ten "irresistable salespeople" purposely blocking people's access to the store. They'd jump right in front of carts with a box in each hand, shrieking "WOULD YOU LIKE TO BUY SOME GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!"
The loud aggressive little shit who blocked my progress had to be told No twice (the second time not so nicely) before she stepped out of my way. Then one of the two adult women minding the girls bellowed out "HOW ABOUT A DONATION, THEN?"
It was like running an obstacle course, to get around the scouts and the carts ahead of me that they'd halted in the same way.
If it had been my store to manage, the lot of them would have had their fat rude selfish butts booted out to the icy parking lot, starting with the grownups.
And the organzation knew they had a winning product with their first box of cookies sold. Who could resist such an "angelic face"?
These sweet little girls could sell dog biscuits to people without pets.
I'm wondering how much of the profit from cookie sales realistically benefits these young girls and all the volunteers necessary to keep the organization in existence.
I hardly expect any bleeding heart liberal to even imagine such a question, while I view conservatives as those who look deeper into every issue.
