I got kicked off the religious threads. I was too conservative:') Seriously, I know there are a lot of good people in your country. Hang in there.
Very good point, Carry_Okie. If anyone doubts this, just realize that Rupert Murdoch -- his biggest supporter in the media -- actually hosted a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton last year!
Right on, SeaBiscuit!
LOL!
Sorry for the silence, but as I said in my initial post on this thread . . . I had to go out and earn a living this afternoon!
If you don't like Rudy, then who do you like that has a ghost of a chance of winning?
I have no idea. We've got a year to go before the first primaries, so let's find someone who can mount a credible conservative campaign.
I wanted everyone to know that I'd be away for a while, since I really would have preferred to answer replies as quickly as possible.
LOL! Thanks, metalurgist -- good post.
Well, not exactly. Rudy's track record as a Republican is marginal at best -- and he deliberately left his party affiliation blank on a recent FEC filing.
I suspect his real goal is to secure the Republican nomination, then run his entire campaign as a "nothing" candidate by lashing out at both the Bush administration and his Democratic opponent. This is really the only way he can really hope to win, based on his political track record and ideological flaws.
No, I missed that -- but thanks for the reference. LOL.
LOL!
The funniest part is that you better not show up with out your bible facts. I can only imagine how many post-it notes I'd have to have in my bible in order to quote chapter and verse with such vengeance.
Anyway, people are rightly worried, and y'all better work together, because you can't afford not to.
There will never be another "United States of America".
Keep it.
:-)
/pontification.
Thanks, Dat Mon . . . good post there.
I don't like having these divisions, either . . . but if it makes you feel any better, I'll throw my lot in with just about anyone on this site -- regardless of where they stand on any particular issue or candidate.
So you're ready for the Rudy bots, but you are not eligible to vote in US Elections?
Hi fan fan, and dittos!
I'm not supporting any particular candidate right now, but most of the GOP field would be somewhat acceptable to varying degrees.
The one candidate other than Giuliani who I would dismiss out of hand is McCain -- not because of disagreements I have with him on specific issues (though there are some of those!), but because he simply doesn't strike me as a serious candidate at all.
I felt a need to start a thread like this because of the blatantly misleading nonsense I've been seeing in the media -- from both mainstream media as well as "conservative" pundits -- about Mr. Giuliani in recent weeks. I got the sense that I was being conned, and I simply wanted no part of it.
I don't mind any reflexive reactions to my initial post. This is definitely a hot topic, and I understand all that.
But let me be clear here . . . I wouldn't even roll out of bed to vote for a "21%" candidate.
Hi Stephen!
Thanks.
Right. But you still haven't mentioned anything in particular to support this argument.
Thanks, stockstrader. Other folks have been harder at work on this than I have . . . I've mostly been posting reactions to their marvelous posts!
