Islam is based on the same Judaic-Christian foundation. They have the same Moses, the same archangels, and a whole list of familiar characters. They are simply less tolerant of what they see as sin. An extreme position that makes our own extreme positions look timid, indeed. The difference I see is of degree, rather than type.

Ah...the difference that I see if that they kill who they consider sinners, whereas Christians pray for who they consider sinning.

Islam is based on the same Judaic-Christian foundation. That may be, but, They are simply less tolerant of what they see as sin.

Certainly. To the point where they (the Wahhabist and the fundamentalists, in any case) slaughter and subjugate anyone who is not a Muslim.

Can't really recall the part in the Bible where Jesus calls on Christians to slaughter and subjugate non-Christians...or the Jews, for that matter.

Using your logic, if one brother is law abiding and the other is in jail, the law-abiding one is a criminal at heart because they both had the same parents. NONSENSE!

I'm really not sure why I bother with someone like you, except for the point that your inane views are the first step towards persecution.

Just compare the openness of Christian societies - where minority faiths are allowed to worship freely and often under the protection of the state - to Muslim countries where you can be persecuted, jailed or killed for such.

My former inlaws were Muslims who convereted to Christianity. They survived several attempts on their lives in Pakistan decades ago before finally emigrating to the US. And it's only gotten worse since then.

That alone negates your whole stupid line of attack on Christian values. Throw in all the other stuff that has been thrown at you by others on this thread, and if you had any shred of decency, you would apologize and slink off to some other FR topic.

Dear kaotic133, if you look at the certainly, the extremism is one of degree. But if you look at what's mainstream within the religions... you see that extremism, fascism and oppression is mainstream withing Islam. You asked where Jesus said that he hated gay people or advocated religious laws for the Roman Empire. He didn't, that's why Christian countries are the only places where gays aren't persecuted, and where there is a seperation between what is God's and what is Caesar's. Muslims seem genuinely befuddled by the concept of a seperation of church and state. It is only Christianity that has implemented something like that.

So forgiving the whore and letting her live in peace and with respect, as opposed to killing her is a matter of degree to you.

Brilliant and gracious on your part. "Sac off"
