Hardly. Perfectionist types I have encountered are either control obsessed power trippers who believe they have a divine calling and are put here to be some sort of super human hero or they are consumed with climbing the organizational pyramid. In either case they are either delusional whack jobs or consummate opportunists and ticket punchers. In both cases they are among the bigger blights in an organizational culture and do far more damage to the organization than any supposed stellar results that achieve.

You must have met a bad crop. Perfectionists also tend to be people pleasers and try hard to make the people in their lives happy. That may just be the female versions, though. :)
