NEGOTIATE WITH IRAN?
By Mark Noonan at 12:05 PM
It is in the news, and NRO is blowing a gasket over it - the story is that the United States is going to enter into negotiations with Iran and Syria...and, of course, this means we're surrendering in the War on Terrorism and other gloom-and-doom scenarios on the right.
Looking that the State Department press briefing, however, I just don't see that - Iraq has called for a regional conference (two of them, actually) at which Iran and Syria will be present along with other nations concerned, including the United States. We don't rule out sitting down to talk one on one, but that is also not something that is scheduled or will actually happen...it is just leaving the door open, depending on circumstances, for us to talk and see if there is any way to work a deal...and it is good to keep in mind that Iran is broke, and under increasing internal strain. They might be ready to quit - especially if they feel that we're getting closer and closer to the end of our patience and are about to unleash military strikes. This is just real diplomacy - which, lefties, is always backed up by a willingness to use force.
Seems like a bit of wisdom to me. I THINK I'LL TRUST PRESIDENT BUSH AND SECRETARY RICE ON THIS ONE AS OPPOSED TO PUNDITS WHO HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LIVES AND SAFETY OF AMERICANS.

HAITIAN TEEN GETS WITH: TO MEET PRESIDENT BUSH
A Haitian girl who received life-saving surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital will meet President Bush today in Washington.

Almost two years after Miami doctors removed a life-threatening tumor from her face, Haitian teenager Dahana Stephanie David will have a chance to thank one of the people she credits for saving her life.
Dahana, 17, will meet President Bush today at the White House.
She doesn't speak English, but she learned the words to God Bless America, which she plans to sing to Bush. She also learned to say ``I love you, President.''

YOUR FEET'S TOO BIG
"An Inconvenient Truth," Al Gore's global-warming horror flick, picked up an Oscar the other night for Best Documentary. Yesterday the Tennessee Center for Policy Research issued an inconvenient report on Gore's own personal "carbon footprint." The center obtained utility records from Gore's mansion "located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville":

Thank you, Dr Deb.
Glad to read Noonan's take on the conference. Rush was all het up about it today.
Is this Noonan any relation to Peggy?
Hysterical inconvenient truth for the phony portly priest of the church of global warming! Ha!
THANKS for posting Noonan's article, Deb.
btw, are YOU feeling better?
Anyway, one of the nicer ladies posted on the leader's message board the petition from Algore that's apparently going around, asking folks to sign if they want to make sure we do something about global warming.
Well, that was just too much for me, and though I haven't responded to any of the messages this year on the board, I responded that Algore was full of hot air, and that there was much more evidence for natural forces, namely the SUN, causing climate change than anything humans could devise. So far, I've only gotten one response, and it was in support of me. I had to laugh, because she is the only other Southerner in the group, and she's a Republican, too! LOL!
Oh, well, even when I'm not around, I cause them trouble.;o)
