Indeed. As the 9th circus just declared, "Marriage" is now hate speech.
Things are going to get interesting.

Hannibal Hamlin? President Lincoln's VP?
I had no idea he was still alive!

Correct! Now, for $10,000 Nigerian and the pretend new car, name the daughter of Lincoln's Secretary of the Treasury. (hint: they named a D.C. suburb after her.)

There is one problem. The courts are not on our side, regardless of what the law says. We are entering an age where the courts are the executive, judicial, and legislative branch of government. Mr. Savage has a long rode ahead of him.
Is there a fund were we can donate to his defense/support when he goes to trial and/or gets fired?

ould it be ethical to list the e-mail addresses of these professors that we might respectfully let them know what we think? Mike Adams wrote an article about this episode last year. I believe some of the emails are included in the article:

Great bookYes, it is. I read it myself. Kupelian does a great job of exposing the sordid history of the abortion industry in one chapter.
He bashes Wolfowitz and Cheney in the book, perhaps to "balance" the book and make it more palatible for academia. Looks like he failed in that endeavor.

You don't remember correctly, and probably should have looked it up. Hamlin was Lincoln's Vice President during his first term, but made no speeches at Gettysburg.
The orator who spoke at Gettysburg before Lincoln's two-minute speech (the one that's now remembered) was Edward Everett, at various times Governor and Senator from Massachusetts, Ambassador to Great Britain, and Secretary of State.

He didn't even write the book; if there is a fundamental error here it is the university's requirement that all students read from the final list of books.
Acts like this smack more of indoctrination than education; even so, it seems that the book was highly sought after and presumably, read by the very students the committee was trying to "protect."

Welcome to the New Totalitarians. Universities used to be bastions of free speech, where ideas were debated, using logic and the inherent ability for (most) humans to find a mutually agreeable substrate of reality.
Not anymore, they are fascist/communist enclaves of absurdity, funded by taxpayers, brainwashing the youth with self-destructive notions, etc. etc.

Who is Kate Chase?
(Chevy Chase, MD; Lincoln's SecTreas was Salmon P. Chase-served 1861-64)

Lincoln's Secretary of the Treasury was Salmon P. Chase, and he had a daughter named Kate. Although, I can't think of any DC suburbs named after her. I know Chevy Chase, MD is just north of DC, but I don't think that's the town you're thinking of.

I really don't care about what gays do. Not so long ago I did care if they were my co-workers or my neighbors.
But....recently...these guys are really getting to me. They are bullies! Before long, it will be a crime to be Christian.
1) There was the Chicago psychologist who was fired from his job because he once ( in the past) belong to a Christian organization that opposed homosexuality.
2) There is this case of the librarian at OSU.
3) The homosexuals are pushing their agenda on kids in the government schools.
4)The students ( and teachers) on campus who are threatened with expulsion if they even breathe a suggestion that homosexuality may have harmful consequences.
5) I am tired of homosexuals burdening the taxpayers with diseases that a completely and entirely avoidable, and are due entirely to their lack of sexual restraint.

Variants of the "Chevy Chase" name go back to the early eighteenth century. It has nothing to do with Salmon P. Chase's family.

Amazing, isn't it? He'll be 198 in August.

From the Town of Chevy Chase website, "history" page:
"Newlands' key early purchase was Chevy Chase, a 305-acre plot of land straddling the line between Maryland and the District of Columbia. The name, which he subsequently adopted for the entire new subdivision, can be traced to the larger tract of land called "Cheivy Chace" that was patented to Colonel Joseph Belt from Lord Baltimore on July 10, 1725. It has historic associations to a 1388 battle between Lord Percy of England and Earl Douglas of Scotland. At issue in this "chevauchee" (a Scottish word describing a border raid) were hunting grounds or a "chace" in the Cheviot Hills of Northumberland and Otterburn."
