Giuliani leads McCain by 16 percentage points, a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll finds.

WASHINTON (CNN) -- Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has opened up a double-digit lead over Arizona Sen. John McCain in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll out Monday indicates.

Thirty-four percent of registered Republicans support Giuliani, while 18 percent support McCain, the poll finds. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney are each tied at nine percent in the poll.

In a similar CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll conducted at the end of January, McCain trailed Giuliani by only six percentage points, registering 26 percent to Giuliani's 34 percent.

The only problem with this poll is, it has a very small sample size.

They sampled a total of 1 (one). CNN was proud to participate.

Giuliani leads handily over McCain and everyone else in every single poll. This is not CNN bias. The mainstream media is not keen on Giuliani. They do, however, love McCain.

I'm a single male.

The more gay men there are, the more unattached women are left for those of us who are single.

Therefore, homosexuality is an excellent idea, as long as you are male.

i really don't know why I don't follow that to its logical conclusion and hate lesbians, but I don't.

But what I really don't understand is why straight men, who would benefit from there being more gay men and therefore less competition for them, are so hard on gay men.

I'm not a liberal because I believe fervently in fiscal conservatism and the War on Terror. I'm a strong supporter of the Iraq war.

But I have to admit, I really don't care about these social issues. I'll vote for a pro-abortion guy or an anti-abortion guy, a gun grabber or a gun saver, depending on who I think is the best leader.

And I don't think there's much question about who's the best, or at least the most proven, leader running in this election. It has to be Rudy.

D

You don't answer reasonable questions or objections, and then you accuse others of being unreasonable. As best I can tell, your only real argument in Rudy's favor is the "tough guy" argument. But you have been challenged more than once on Rudy's military non-record (or, really, record of avoidance). Here's just one example:
what is his plan to fight terrorism? What is his experience with the military?
Since you claim to want reasonable arguments, I think you ought to have a good, solid answer to such questions.

Frankly, I'm wondering if your real reason for supporting Rudy is his gay-tolerance, and I only bring that up because your comment on gays is one of the few substantial things you've said in the debate.

Oh it has slipped away BIG TIME! Some are even ready to blame Rudy for a lot of what happened to the firefighters. It's shameful to the hilt but then they don't feel shame only hatred.

Frankly I am wondering the reason why you guys are supporting Fred Thompson in his gay-tolerance. He believes the same as Rudy on immigration and gay unions. Also HE NEVER SERVED IN THE MILITARY either.

LOL,

me voting because of "gay tolerance". that is hilarious.

What if I just like Rudy ? What if I just think he is the best guy to lead the country ?

You know you have a very interesting way of putting that. I've never quite heard it put that way. I'm a female and I think that is a very cool way of looking at it.

I do see that they have presented the questions in random order, though. That's an improvement over the polls that are a push-poll hybrid.

"I think you guys said that about Duncan Hunter too - but you can dream all you want. Outside of FR Fred Thompson is not that well known as a politician. He is known more for being a TV Star. He is hardly the political rock star you think he is outside of FR."

I think you need to turn off CNN and check Fox News.

Tonight Brit Hume showed a report from Carl Cameron that since Thompson was on Sunday the support from conservatives for Fred Thompson to get in was overwhelming.

My apologies for the personal part, but the reality is that whatever a person's sex life, there clearly is an agenda pushing acceptance and normalization of same sex relations into the public sphere. As a parent, that is disturbing to me. Ditto the degradation of our culture - there is a culture war and we are losing. Rudy is on the wrong side of all too many issues that matter to a free people. He is an authoritarian liar and fraud. Ask either of his first two wives.

LOL.

It won't make a difference to the Rudophiles, though. They don't care about where he stands on issues, how he treats people, what kind of man he has been, or how much he has fought against us on many key issues.

If Rudy tomorrow declared the War on Terror to be a strictly law enforcement duty, all the Rudophiles would be telling us that it's okay for Rudy to say that because he's the one candidate who's proven you can do it that way.

Most of them agree with his Liberal positions, but many of them just don't care. They are like a bunch of bad Vegas gamblers betting that the Bears would win the Super Bowl if they scored first.

Rudy served under fire while commanding over 55,000 police officers alone.
Does that count? Does in my book.
