So we should have had the Mayor of Pearl Harbor as President in WWII? Forgive my bluntness, but your argument is juvenile and nonsensical.

Rudy's mismanagement of the Emergency Ops Center and his negligence in placing the diesel fuel for same in 7 WTC makes me support him even less than his overt liberalism. His is incompetent.

Giuliani is not "opening up a lead", so much as McCain is falling away. Giuliani is at the same 34% as before. Someone else got 8 points from McCain, and CNN (or the person excerpting) doesn't really want us to know who it is.

Or maybe they all went to "undecided"?

An interesting revelation. Let me guess: you are one of those pro-abort suburban soccer moms the media keeps talking about, and what really drives you is Rudy's sex appeal? Don't be embarrassed to 'fess up. At least two other women in Rudy's past have been similarly deceived.

What kind of world are you living in? That remark was so silly I can't even answer. I lived in NYC during Koch's reign, Dinkins' reign and Rudy's reign and the difference between the two lousy mayors (Koch and Dinkins) and Rudy was startling. I've seen first hand what Rudy did during his terms as mayor. And also I was there in NYC on 9/11 and got to see Rudy's steady firm hand to calm us all down. After that I've seen Rudy go to to bat and campaign in 2000 and 2004 and 2006 for Republican running in elections regardless of how much we liked him or didn't. He didn't care he just kept campaigning for the Republicans.

Another poll in the last week had 60% or so not knowing what Rudy's "other stuff" is... it's when they find out he has a problem. The dems are hoping it's after he is nominated so Hillary has a chance when 10% of the vote walks out of the Republican base to a third party...

If Fred Thompson gets in Rooty Toot is finished.

I think you guys said that about Duncan Hunter too - but you can dream all you want. Outside of FR Fred Thompson is not that well known as a politician. He is known more for being a TV Star. He is hardly the political rock star you think he is outside of FR.

If Fred Thompson is running he had better get started. He needs to get past the three front runners, one being his very good friend McCain who he supported him in the 2000 elections.

No other candidates were the mayor of NYC on 9/11.

He was gone before the cleanup was even done. And he made millions for years afterwards talking about it.

Hillary was Senator of New York state, and was there lopng after Rudy left.

So what?

So what. Even my Basset Hound is leading McCain by double digits.

Yea but this is shocking to the media's favorite McCain.

A51, McCain is no longer the media's favorite. He outlived his usefulness to them and he's fading fast everywhere.

The MSM is now pushing Rudy. Yeah I know the MSM hates Rudy for all the conservative things he did for NYC. Both you and I know that even if some of the knuckleheads around here don't.

But the MSM is pushing Rudy now, because a Rudy and his abortion and 2A problems in the general election will split the conservative vote just enough for the beast to win.

Sorry.

Why don't you address real issues, or shut up.

The fact that he dresses like a woman sometimes IS one of the issues. (although not the primary issue) Are you denying that the pictures are out there?

Well the MSM has a funny way of showing it with Rudy! LOL! Sure some columnists are on Rudy's side but the MSM is not thrilled with Rudy.

Do you really think you can run a successful campaign when your candidate has effectively surrendered on all the policy points aside from "I'm leading in MSM push polling?"

"I bet the Rudy is scared to death the Fred Thompson will decide to run. He's probably got his 'bots flooding the internet trying to stage a pre-emptive strike."

If Thompson ran, Rudy could very well be his running mate. It would give him 8 years to redeem himself.

Rudy will not beat Thompson in the primaries. It will be close, but no cigar.

The fact that he dresses like a woman sometimes IS one of the issues.

BabeG, back in the days of Clinton, if I remember correctly, we had a few male Freepers who would dress up like Hillary and they would Freep a few Clinton events.

We all used to think it was pretty funny, really nothing more.

Maybe you thought it was more?

Perhaps we should ping them to this thread and you can ask them if they were getting their jollies doing it.

Okay?

BTW, the first time Fred Thompson was mentioned in FR was exactly ten days ago in a thread about him possibly running.  http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1794264/posts#comment?q=1  There are 980 posts to that thread, generally positive.  Makes one wonder if Freepers are as pliable as marshmallows.  How 'bout Thompson?  41% yea!!!  How 'bout Gingrich?   41% yea!!!  How 'bout Giuliani?  41% yea!!!  How 'bout Hunter? 41% yea!!! How 'bout Hillary?  41% yea!!!   How 'bout .... wait a minute.... can I have that last poll back?

If Rudy wins simply because terrorists hit us on 9/11, the terrorists will have won.
