Presidential candidate Brownback: Homosexual acts are immoral

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Sam Brownback is backing the nation's top general over his remarks that homosexual acts are immoral.

The Kansas senator planned to send a letter on Thursday to President Bush supporting Marine Gen. Peter Pace, who earlier this week likened homosexuality to adultery and said the military should not condone it by allowing gay personnel to serve openly.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs also said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune: "I believe that homosexual acts between individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts. I do not believe the United States is well-served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way." (Watch how Pace's comments stirred the debate Video) 'Unfair and unfortunate'

Lawmakers of both parties criticized the remarks, but Brownback's letter called the criticism "both unfair and unfortunate."

"We should not expect someone as qualified, accomplished and articulate as General Pace to lack personal views on important moral issues," Brownback said. "In fact, we should expect that anyone entrusted with such great responsibility will have strong moral views."

Social Security is f'd up
Medicare is bankrupting the country
Ragheads blowing up chilrun
Latino gangs increasing in the country

Well, it's good to know Brownback is obsessing over faggots.

I do not want to hear candidates 'moralizing' about homosexuality; just whether they think 'Gay marriage' is a legal Right. . .or not. . .Whether 'don't ask/don't tell' is a reasonable response for our Military. . .or not. . .whether 'Gay agendas' should be included in our Educational curriculums. . .or not. . .

I don't know if its "immoral" but its definitely deviant behavior. Such people should seek medical help.

The fact is...it doesn't matter!

The only thing government should be concerned about is if any action violates the rights of another. Two guys doing the unthinkable in their own house makes me sick to my stomach but it doesn't violate my rights so I have no right to violate (or advocate violating) theirs.

I don't have a problem with gays in the military as long as they stick to being a soldier and keep sexuality on the down-low. If they want to serve, fine with me, just don't screw your comrades, figuratively or literally. I've worked along side homosexuals and bisexuals before, they're just as hard-working as the rest of us IMO. [puts on flame suit]

You haven't served in the military with them. Those that have overwhelmingly are against homosexuals in the military. Other than homosexuals themselves and those on the "gay" agenda bandwagon. If you study up on the subject with an open mind (there's a lot of info on FR), you'll change your viewpoint.

Later I'll try to post some links, or do check out scripter's profile page. I don't have time to do anything right now, maybe later.

Brownback's violating the new, unofficial version of the "Don't ask, don't tell policy": all views of homosexuality are acceptable, provided they are positive views.

It is indeed your right not to care, cricket.

But whether you like it...or not...they are indeed issues, and important ones.

Most conservatives could care less whether people are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or any other kind of sexual in the privacy of their homes.

They DO have concerns, and valid ones at that, whether we as a society should bestow the imprimatur of normalcy on homosexuality.

People who do care would regard YOUR statement in your post as 'moralizing'.

Very good points! The only thing that I am against is the agenda portion otherwise could care less.

Tolorance, such a fine aspiration, hope you don't mind if the muzzies want to make a few bombs in their bedroom, just for religious purpose. After all it is the privacy of their own bedroom.

It doesn't sound as if he is obsessing over homosexuals. (I refuse to use your language.) He was commenting on the situation concerning General Pace. I'm sure that he has also made comments about social security, medicare, terrorists and gangs on other occasions.
The homosexual issue is important, along with other issues. The gay rights movement is interested in indoctrinating children with their viewpoint by infiltrating schools, redefining marriage, and creating special status for themselves through "hate crimes" legislation. They are breaking up the Episcopal Church and are the main group responsible for spreading AIDS in the US. I could go on with this list. They insist on drawing attention to themselves and their agenda at all times. Social conservatives would not focus on them nearly as much if gay rights supporters weren't so vocal and persistent about their (political) desires. Remember - they are demanding radical change. Social conservatives are just trying to defend themselves from this ill-considered assault on traditional morality.
I wish that these unhappy people could find happiness within themselves instead of thinking that the rest of the world needs to change in order for them to be happy. A little humility and introspection would go a long way in the case of the gay rights movement.
