The Democrats own defeat. They have no right to order the Commander In Chief to do anything. This bill will get a veto if the Cut N Run provision isn't stripped from it in conference.

218-212. 2 Republicans vote yea, 11 Democrats voted nay. Not sure who voted yet, but that info should be available before too long.

Final vote--218 to 212... there is no way this is anywhere near "veto proof"
By the end of the month, libs will be crying Rovian plots.
ALOT of the kook base is furious they were given the finger. Even MoveOn.org and the "out of iraq" caucus sold them out and/or were pulled by nancy.

It was close, something like 212-208.

How much is this B.S. costing taxpayers every day to pull these stunts? What is really getting accomplished with these clowns in power? We're paying for this circus everyone.

Why not attack the democrats instead of attacking GW? They passed the damn bill, not him. GW is not the one assisting the enemy that wants to kill us all, democrats are. GW will veto this if it reaches his desk but it will never get passed the senate.

This is a statement of how weak the Republicans in the House really are. Their lame support for our President tells a story that's just as big as the Democrats acting predictably Democrat.
Where's Newt when we need him. It's been a downhill slide for the GOP ever since then. There are NO leaders in the GOP.
Bush is on his own.

What I'm wondering is, once this is vetoed, how is the war funded?? Will the the rats have "won" by default???
