WASHINGTON - Rudolph Giuliani's own campaign once called it the "weirdness factor."
In 1993, aides fretted that voters would look askance at him for his 14-year marriage to his second cousin, later annulled.
Then last week, the latest Mrs. Giuliani injected a twist into his White House campaign, with revelations of a "secret" third husband.

Rudybots will now try to discredit Newsday and say that this is "old news", or some similar tactic. Thanks for the post!
But I thought the "Rudy Haters" were responsible for this comment? LOL!
Odd to see you only attacking the messenger... care to discuss the specifics of the article?
This post was an article from today's Newsday. You should take your accusations and your conspiracy theory to them.
The way I see it, getting Rudy off the table will only serve to unite the Republican party, as he is the one who seems to be dividing it. Let's face it, 2/3 of the Republicans do not like him.
14-year marriage to his second cousin ..............I thought I heard that a second cousin was OK to marry. Its a first cousin that presents a problem. In some states (insert one)it appears OK to marry your sister.
"Rudy Don't Wear That Dress to Town"
You put on your pumps and rouge,
Then your store bought hair,
Hey maybe there's another gay,
parade out there somewhere.
It won't be long before your numbers,
will start coming down.
Oh Ruuu-dy,
don't go in drag to town.
They say that you can lead us,
in this crazy war we're in.
That you can beat Hillary,
and they just want to win
I know that constitution,
it won't ever slow you down
Oh Ruuu-dy,
don't go in drag to town.
It's hard to vote, for a man,
Who wants to take my guns.
Who has less in common,
with Reagan than Clin-ton
I know you like to play the field,
and have some pretty Gowns
Oh Ruuu-dy
don't go in drag to town.
He's leading now, cause I've heard,
the latest greatest polls.
Forget about his Kerek-ture,
just vote and hold your nose
Well I can't vote for Marylin,
I have to stand my ground.
Oh Ruuu-dy,
don't go in drag to town.
Oh Ruuu-dy,
Don't wear that dress to town.
Oh, heaven forbid we take issue with Newsday. What's the earth-shattering revelation in this hit piece that's giving you the vapors now? Please tell.
Yuck!
Quick, somebody post a poll!
I think Rudy used that as an excuse to get a 14 year marriage annulled through the church.
It was never "consummated"? LOL! Lucky they had no children, because the Church would not have given him an annulment.
1. The bus ad lawsuit. We've discussed Giuliani's thin-skin, but going as far as filing a lawsuit because you feel slighted is over the line.
2. Giuliani's refusal to release his client list at this point. Who's on it and why the reluctance? He's been quoted as saying his campaign will look over the paperwork and release what they're legally required to. Why the secrecy?
3. The mention of the "slow drip" of negative information and it's effect on his candidacy. Why go into a national election with a severely damaged candidate?
Once again, Giuliani's positions on social issues combined with his personal life will mean the end of the Republican party as the "family values" party. God, guns and gays will be off the table forever and Bill Clinton will go smiling into history.
Dear TommyDale,
The Catholic Church proscribes marriages between second cousins. It isn't an impediment that can't be overcome, in that the bishop of the diocese may grant a dispensation to the general law forbidding such a marriage. However, without such a dispensation, the marriage between second cousins isn't a valid Catholic marriage.
Mr. Giuliani and Mrs. Giuliani I apparently didn't obtain the dispensation, so he was able to obtain a declaration of nullity of their marriage. Of course, he could also have obtained the dispensation after the fact, thus validating their marriage in the eyes of the Church. However, what he wanted was an excuse for an anullment, not to make his marriage to Mrs. Giuliani I sacramentally valid. Thus, he was able to marry Mrs. Giuliani II (his mistress during his marriage to Mrs. Giuliani I) in the Church.
As for children - the presence or absence of issue from the marriage isn't relevant to the question of sacramental validity or declarations of nullity.

Thanks for that clarification. So they could have had the Church approve it, but they didn't.
Rest assured that releasing his "secret" client list will be far more damaging than the recent revelation of clients Citgo and Hugo Chavez.
