Missed 5th grade didn't you:-) Tennessee is downstream. Virginia is already pumping millions from Gaston Lake due to its head waters beginning in Va. Some attempt to stop Va from pumping but NC arguments did not win... What city in Va. is this pipeline going to from Gaston Lake? I can't seem to be able to find it.

Check "requests" from Norfolk, Virginia Beach (and maybe Sufolk) and Chesapeake. They were the ones years ago that made the requests.
HOWEVER, I do not know whether or not it was ever built.

Shades of the water fights between Fayetteville and the water grubbers up in Cary, Raleigh, et al.
In that case it was pulling water from the Cape Fear, treating, using and retreating it but then dumping it in another river.

In California, there may be some big fights over water next year. As long as there are a Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, and Idaho, Californicators can continue to wash cars & water lawns in peace.
