Britain should take the video, find the exact spot via triangulation against shore points, and show the world that the location was in Iraqi waters. The Iranians already goofed once by providing coordinates "proving" the Brits were in Iranian waters - and the coordinates proved the opposite. They changed the coordinates.

They will have a harder time changing video.

"Can't we just go kick Iran's ass?"

And can we do it in such a stark and vividly brutal way, as to make an example for the rest of the islamo-religious barbarians to see and ponder for several centuries?

Iran TV shows footage of Britons' capture

Thu Mar 29, 2007 12:28PM EDT

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian television showed footage on Thursday of what it said was the operation to seize 15 British naval personnel last week and also what it reported as evidence the Britons were in Iranian territory.

Britain says British sailors and marines were detained in Iraqi waters and says global positioning data proved its position. Iran says it has similar proof to back its case.

TV footage showed a Revolutionary Guards boat at sea closing in on what it said was a British vessel. One voice, apparently from a boat where the film was taken, shouts: "Are they British?" Another answers: "They are British, they are British."

In another exchange, somebody says: "So where is the other one (British boat)?" Another person says: "There it is."

State TV showed a military officer named only as Setaieh indicating several points on a map where he said the Britons entered Iran.

"Based on the information we got from GPS, it showed that they had violated Iranian waters before," said Setaieh, commander of the border base at Arvand in southwest Iran near the region where the Britons were detained.

"GPS from the British boats show the place where they stopped was about 450 meters inside Iranian territorial waters," he said.

Britain's Defense Ministry said global positioning data showed the British sailors and marines were 1.7 nautical miles within Iraqi waters when they were captured by Iranian gunboats near the waterway that separates Iran and Iraq.

Nothing will happen.

MOD says the position of Britain stays the same.

This new video appears to show the arrest, and an iranian naval officer speaking in fasi trying to prove we were in their waters.

He appears to hold some sort of device, similar to the tracking device from the helicopter shot yesterday.

I heard they've changed their mind about releasing the female soldier. These maggots need to be exterminated. Fat chance.

Do the Brits concur the first coordinates were correct? Does that helo-originating picture of the GPS readout confirm those first coordinates?

Did you see this???

"The Ministry of Defence has released detailed evidence supporting the claim that 15 British marines and sailors were in Iraqi territory when they were seized by Iran."

Yes.

The Iranians gave the same coordinates to us, before they realised they'd actually given us coordinates proving we were not in their waters.

I wish I were Sec. of Defense. The gloves would've been off months ago and Tehran would be a steaming pile of rubble. Sad as it is, I really think this is the only way to deal with these people.

I guess now is as good a time as any to find out if soinsanes WMD stockpile was transported to Syria or not. Who knows they might pop up in the event this escalates that far.
(Maybe we can now say HA! to those dems.)

The IRGC is actually a state within a state and supplies logistical support to Hizbollah. The IRGC is controlled by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the religious and political power in Iran. The Basij, an intelligence arm from this organization is affiliated with Mahmoud and the quds...

So realistically if something goes politically wrong for Mahmoud, he just says not my responsibility, the same way Lebanon did with Hizbollah. A similiar situation in Iraq.

Won't happen. The West has already gone wobbly in the knees over Iraq and the WOT - there's no way they'll go hot against Iran.

You can have the biggest and best equipped military in the world, and it's useless if you lack the popular support and willpower to use it and see it through.
